Best City for Exploration

A city of magnificence and splendor

Rome's history is extravagant and based on copious amounts of culture and many legends. The legend of Julius Caesar, the Roman Gods such as Zeus, Saturn, and Pluto, and the famous Roman Coliseum where many bloody gladiator battles have taken place give the city of Rome its mystical aura that people yearn to become a part of. There are many modern places to eat, drink, attend church service, and view works
of modern and classical art as well.

The Coliseum is perhaps the most awe-inspiring, thought-provoking building in Europe. Most call it a work of art. Walking up to the Coliseum, especially during times when there are not as many tourists,
will take your mind and emotions to another world. You will not be able to resist imagining yourself among the Romans from many years ago approaching the arena to gaze upon a spectacle of blood and sand. Pictures and photographs do not do this magnificent arena that took about 10 years to build justice. The capacity of this grand arena is 50,000 people—simply breathtaking.

Before visiting the Coliseum, enjoy a breakfast at any one of the local restaurants. Antico Caffé di Brasile has amazing coffee and breakfast snacks that will kick start your day of learning and travel. After a couple of hours of sightseeing and walking, enjoy some all natural gelato at Il Gelato di San Crispino. This place has perhaps the best gelato in Rome. You will not be disappointed.

Beyond the traditional Roman scope and famous landmarks, Rome is offering more and more music and club venues. The Gilda is a great spot to dance and listen to music, mingle with celebrities, and enjoy the
finer things in life. If you do not have expensive, club scene taste, I suggest visiting Academia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. This place of classical music is open all year and features its own talented orchestra.
Rome is on the verge of becoming an international music and opera mecca.

A city of magnificence and splendor

A trip to Rome is not complete without taking a walk through The Vatican. Whether or not you are Catholic, the area is an enormous part of history that should be visited. Attend service at one of the
churches to get a feel for the Roman Catholic faith and camaraderie of the city.

When you enter the Sistine Chapel, the bright colors and brilliant paintings by Michelangelo on the walls and ceilings give you a feeling of euphoria. Words and photographs cannot begin to describe the
fascinating feeling this place will bring you. People are often speechless inside the Sistine Chapel. When words are spoken, it is in a tone of awe and wonder. I suggest you take it all in and remain silent and respectful to the environment of this wonderful place.

The perfumes, boutiques, and shops of Via del Corso, the ruggedness and structure of Circus Maximus, the honorable and ancient Arche of Constantine, and a nice picnic or chat session at The Palestine Hill are all the more reasons to visit Rome, Italy.
